Description

Get ready to be transported back to the sights and sounds of a bygone era.
On this 1 hour tour, you’ll pass by iconic venues and locations in the Kings Road, Chelsea - the popular playground of socialites, actors and rock stars and the location of London’s fashion houses that were characteristic of Swinging 60s London.
• Your chance to ride on a vintage 1960s double decker London bus
• Live commentary by knowledgable tour guides
• 60s music supplied by the original 60s pirate radio station RADIO CAROLINE

These tours depart from outside the Victoria & Albert Museum in Cromwell Road (close to South Kensington tube station) at
11.00am on Sundays and
11.30am on Tuesdays
Travel down the Kings Road - the beating heart of Swinging 60s London where we pass Ringo's current London pad and the location of the 'Chelsea Drugstore' as mentioned in the Stones hit 'You Can't Always Get What You Want'.
See the locations of the first psychedelic boutique ‘Granny Takes A Trip’ and Mary Quant’s ‘Bazaar’, where the mini skirt was invented, plus venues that helped launch the careers of the legendary musical acts of the 1960s.
You’ll pass by other notable locations of the era like the Royal Albert Hall, arguably the most famous music venue in the world, where The Rolling Stones and Beatles played on the same bill in September 1963.
Each landmark is introduced by a professional music historian guide, and throughout the tour you'll also be treated to a hand-picked selection of 60s hits and original jingles by Radio Caroline.
At the end you'll be returned to the starting point - The Victoria & Albert Museum in Cromwell Road.
PLEASE NOTE
Aim to turn up 15 minutes before the departure time as we will not be able to reimburse pssengers who are late
